Every great creation starts with a DREAM. BELIEVING in our dream follows this. Then a wondrous journey unfolds.

 

BELIEVE is here to inspire, uplift, heal and empower. In it are stories and songs of Faith, Hope, Love, Joy, and Courage. The powerful messages are expressed through the gifts and artistry of a powerhouse cast composed of Isabella, Keith Martin, Radha, Lynn Sherman, Guji Lorenzana, Marq Dollentes and Cebu’s pride, Benjie Layos.

 

The popular songs that they’ll be singing are given whole new meanings through the characters that they play and how we relate to them and to the music. BELIEVE features fresh and new arrangements of the songs we know and the music we love, interpreted by voices that would lift our spirits. We are assured of great entertainment perfectly combined with messages that would surely move each one of us.

 

BELIEVE, the pop musical, is an excellent mix of the entertainment and energy of a musical concert, the drama of theater and the inspirational messages of a retreat.

 

We invite you to journey with the characters and experience how a challenging life situation and personal chaos, through the path of self- awareness, self-acceptance, unconditional love and enlightenment, can give birth to a dancing star. Join this musical retreat, hear your familiar and favorite songs, experience them in a whole new way,  and emerge with a sheer lightness of being.

 

To inspire and to believe in the power of dreams as forces behind its conception, the show would feature the creations of Jun Escario. He is one of the few Cebu designers who have risen to gain national recognition and would surely invade the international market soon.

 

The group is hoping to get world renowned furniture designer and creator Kenneth Cobonpue agree on conceiving and creating the set, for he will surely be a great source of inspiration for everyone. On this one, at the moment, we are counting on Faith.

 

The show is endorsed by the Department of Trade and Industry through the efforts of Cebu DTI Provincial Director, Nelia Navarro, who believes in our vision.

 

Our beneficiary, which is worthy of everyone’s assistance, is the KAHAYAG Network of Cancer Support Groups. It is a network of people and communities giving cancer survivors, their families and caregivers meaningful lives through the psychosocial support programs that they provide.

 

Let our hearts leap for JOY and give THANKS in SONG. It is the divine language of GRATITUDE.

NEITHER IS RENUNCIATION THE SOLUTION

Anytime you’re practicing renunciation, you’re deluded.

How about that!
You’re deluded. What are you renouncing? Anytime you renounce something, you are tied forever to the thing you renounce.

There’s a guru in India who says, "Every time a prostitute comes to me, she’s talking about nothing but God. She says I’m sick of this life that I’m living. I want God.

But every time a priest comes to me he’s talking about nothing but sex.

Very well, when you renounce something, you’re stuck to it forever. When you fight something, you’re tied to it forever. As long as you’re fighting it, you are giving it power. You give it as much power as you are using to fight it.

This includes communism and everything else. So you must "receive" your demons, because when you fight them, you empower them. Has nobody ever told you this? When you renounce something, you’re tied to it.

The only way to get out of this is to see through it. Don’t renounce it, SEE THROUGH IT. Understand its true value and you won’t need to renounce it; it will just drop from your hands. But of course, if you don’t see that, if you’re hypnotized into thinking that you won’t be happy without this, that, or the other thing, you’re stuck. What we need to do for you is not what so-called spirituality attempts to do –namely, to get you to make sacrifices, to renounce things. That’s useless. You’re still asleep.

What we need to do is to help you understand, understand, understand. If you understood, you’d simply drop the desire for it. This is another way of saying: If you woke up, you’d simply drop the desire for it.

Anthony de Mello, a Jesuit priest, influenced the world through his powerful understanding of the human condition.  Born in 1931 and died in 1987, he was known throughout the world for his writings and spiritual conferences.

A typhoon hit the city yesterday afternoon leaving us without electricity for hours.

It gave us the chance to appreciate the beauty of a candle-lit rainy cold night. We got all the candles out, old and new. It was beautiful and romantic. The sound of rain and the cool breeze even made the experience mystical.

This morning I noticed an old candle that was given by a patient who was a candle maker. It has a printed note attached to it that says “ A special gift of light for Dr. Bill Ramos. May your Candle of Life glow softly forever for those who need your light when they are in the darkness of the burden they carry. “

He was Albert a young man, dad and a husband who had liver cancer. He must be a LIGHT now that burns bright in every candle.

I just want to share the JOY that I feel as I remember him.
